Default .54 t/c renegade percussion

this may be a dumb question but i am new at this. can a scope be mounted on this gun? i was just wondering. and is this gun a popular gun? i just bought this gun from my uncle who has had it for some 10 years or so and only shoot it a handful of times and i bought it for 80 bucks which i thought was a good buy.

Yeah you can mount a scope. But why do such an ugly thing?

Ya! If you want to scope a muzzleloader you would be better off to buy an inline. Traditional rifles are not really meant to be scoped. You can scope them but I dont think you should.

You can mount a scope on it but you may have to have the hammer bent to clear the scope. Best thing to do is get rid of that lousy Renegade. Being that it is the holidays and I'm ina good mood, I'll give you $100 plus shipping for it. Then you won't have to worry about scoping it.

Fox Ridge outfitters sell an off set base. Or mounts to the rear sight of the rifle. Some of the Renegades had a back mount screw most did not. This might be a job for a gun smith. It takes Weaver mounts. No bending of the hammer, etc. I have a scope on one of mine, and plan to put a scope on more of them in the future. Although the barrel I scopes is a Green Mountain 1-28 fast twist barrel.
