Elk - Bang/flop is the term

RE: Elk - Bang/flop is the term
In the late 70's we were living in Longmont Colo. Some friends took me to Clark Colo which is a little north of Steamboat Springs. I was and still am into bow hunting. I was watching some elk in a small group of Aspens. I got within 40 yards and hunkered down. Five min later a bull spike walked towards me and I took the shot at 21 yards. It was and still is my most favorite hunting story. The next best would be with the 50 cal. I quit hunting big game with my old 270 Win about 4 years ago. I will soon be 70 and as long as theGood Lord lets me I plan to hunt every chance I get.
I would love to drill any elk with one of my 50 cal ML's.
That cow looks like you will have some tasty elk steaks. Makes me hungry.

Congrats on a great hunt / season!!!
That load is the same load that I am using for moose (except mine is an Omega and Win 209 Primers). Unfortuneately, I never got the chance to lower the hammer on one this year, but I am glad to see it's performance is up to expectations. Reports like that give me even more confidence in my choice of loads.
