shot my cva today
I finally got around to shooting my hunterbolt today . Its the first time i've shot it since I had cva lighten the trigger , and learned a few tricks from you guys .
my load is 2 -50 gr pyrodex pellets , an mmp orange sabot (.458)and a remington . 458 / 300 hp and rem 209 primer
I cleaned between every shot , one wet , two dry
the dang thing shot a 1.25 inch group..............two in the same hole !!!!!!
I'll shoot again soon to see if it will do the same , the last group with this load shot 1.5 inches , I think I'll shoot this combo this year .
the trigger job made a big difference in how I shoot this gun .
can any one tell me how to post pictures , I want to show off a little .

I had a hunterbolt and I really liked it. I had no problems with it at all. For the money you cant beat it. I just recently upgraded to the tc omega. Good job with the grouping. Its not just the gun its the shooter too.

Wow, there ya go. Makes a huge difference in your confidence to know you can shoot a 1.25" 100 yard group. The swabing and the trigger job made the difference, way to do. Did the do the trigger job for free? Did you have to pay return shipping? Just curious on CVA policies.

I sent it to them on a monday , I got it back on friday of the following week .
no charges.
just paid the shipping to them
had to wait another week because they forgot to send back my breech plug..........that was probably partly my fault , they said they only needed my barrelled action and bolt .
they did the trigger , and replaced some parts in the bolt .
it is now around 3.5 to 4.0 lbs .........its a whole lot better

Thanks for the info!! I talked to the local gun shop this yesterday and they told me it all depends. It could be a couple days or a couple three months. I really don't want to risk it this year I figure I will deal with it till after Jan. Then I will send it off so I can get it adjusted for next year. I am going to make some small adjustments to the stock here soon leave the trigger for the shop. The local gun shop also told me that it is better to send it back to them because if someone else does it then it voids my warranty and don't want to do that.
Thanks again.
Good Luck
