777, Question for the guys that prefer it
My Triumph seems to have a preferance for 777,I have been working up loads using FF what should I expect if I try the same loads with FFF; or will I have to start all over ?
Thanks Guys,Lee

Well whether your rifle will like the 3f only range time will tell. I personally get better accuracy with 2f and sabots but with conicals then the 3f seems to shine. You might have to start over with your loads, but there really is not all that much difference in velocity. About 100 fps last time I looked at some numbers.
It will be an interesting test through.... good luck

cayugad, Thanks this is the first time I have had a gun that showes a preferance for it,I was suprised that the differance in velocity wasn't all that great, the differance between it and Pyrodex is less than I expected to; this new style breach plug seems to get more velocity as well as sealing off the blow back completely and elminating the "crudring".Lee

I only use T7-3f in my side locks.... I do use 2f in the inlines basically because I know I can ignite 2f in really cold weather with a 209 or a 25ACP. On the other hand in a side lock using percussion caps it is a toss up if it will go off. Everything is just to cold, but with 3f I can get the powder out under the cap and it ignites just fine...
The only comparison test of the two powders I have done is from a side lock. 3f did not give me a great velocity boost nor was it any more accurate.... I think I have some velocities here someplace - let me look. These are from a TC Renegade 1/48 twist
Here is some information if it will help any....

RE: 777, Question for the guys that prefer it
Thanks guys, I have shoot a few groups under different conditions with 50/40 - 200gr SW and 100gr of 777-FF the smallest was .8 the largest was 1.25 and the average was 1.1 with bow season opening next monday my time is going to be limited and I was tring to may up my mind weather I should try and go up like 110 of 777-FF or try FFF
while 777 is not my favorite powder this particular gun seems to have a preforance for it and don't get "crudring"
so I guess it will be 110FF next time out.
