Cayugad, Hows that traditions hawken coming along?
I have two of them actually. The percussion is a 1-66 twist and is an excellent roundball shooter. The second is a flintlock with a 1:48 twist. It also is a very good roundball shooter. Also the lock speed is exceptional.

I am going to be shooting them next week when I test some other conicals I had made for me.

Sounds like fun. I need to stock up on a few lbs of the real blackpowder for my kentucky and the new mountain rifle thats coming in. Really looking forward to shooting that .54 flintlock. Do you have any 54's? I'd like some info on whats being used and producing good groups.

I have a couple. Most of the 1:48 twists shoot roundball and conicals very well.

This one has either a 1:66 twist or a 1:77 twist. I bought it strickly for Patched round ball. Round ball in a 54cal weights i think, 218 grains? Should be more than enough for deer and elk.

The CVA Mountain Rifles had a 1-66 Twist. It is what I learn to shoot muzzle loader on when I first got started. Also that was the begining of my love of the caliber. And they are excellent roundball shooters. You stick a 224 grain roundball with 100 grains of powder behind it through anything, and it is in a world of hurt.
