lead fouling?
I need advice on how to clean a barel that seems to be fouled with lead. I shot about 15 buffalo bullets and can't get the barel clean. After washing the barel in soapy water, I ran a full bag of 250 patches, wire brush with shooters choice and still get black on the patches. THANKS FOR ANY HELP.

RE: lead fouling?
Bob,
Try lapping the barrel with a mild abrasive paste like that made by J-Bs, Flitz, or Iosso. Smear some of this stuff on a patch and then work it down the bore with short, quick, descending stokes. Follow with 2 dry patches worked the samr way. Then repeat the process 1 or 2 more times. Then patch it with some solvent and see what comes out.
The abrasive and following patches will come out REALLY black - but that is normal.

Trust God..........but keep your powder dry!

RE: lead fouling?
Any good Bore Cleaner that's made to remove lead should work. I use Birchwood Casey Bore Scrubber and have no problems with removing lead. I shoot lead in my Muzzleloader and in all my hand guns and the lead comes out easily with a good Bore Cleaner and a little bit of work with the patches and bore brush.
