Default Black powder cartridge reloading

Toying with shooting blackpowder loads out of my SAA. Does anyone do it?

The table I'm using from Hodgdon states:

45 Colt 200 Gr. Cast LRNFP Triple Seven FFG 35.0 Gr. 959 8,500 CUP
45 Colt 250 Gr. Cast LRNFP Triple Seven FFG 30.0 Gr. 838 9,500 CUP

That is actually faster than the smokeless will push those particular bullets according to another table from "IMR's Trailboss" smokless powder:
Bullet: 200 GR. Cast LRNFP
Dia. .452"
COL: 1.600" Trail Boss 5.5 706 8,000PSI 6.5 855 11,000 PSI
Bullet: 250 GR. Cast LRNFP
Dia. .452"
COL: 1.600" Trail Boss 4.5 606 8,800 PSI 5.8 727 12,700 PSI
Can someone please tell me why I have been using a slower powder, when I could be smoking out everyone at the range?

And what am I going to do with the 3lbs of Trailboss I have left?
Guess I have to get more pistols and use it up.

I'd be interested in recipes and experiences with BP cartridge reloading and shooting.

I just started.
So far my 45Colt load is a Hornady 200gr C/T over 38grs Triple Seven FFG fired by a CCI #350 primer. I have no idea what the MV is, but its slow enough that I han no leading at all. Ive only tested at 10 yards so far, but they werevery accurate loads easily puchining the center from the target. Fouling was very soft and cleaned up easily. Im going to try for an even 40grs next loading. The 38gr loadings were stout but very mild compared to smokeless loads.

When I get some SPG bullets and some Walters Wads. Im going to try a few loads with Goex FFFG..

My experience so far is that this is realy, REALY FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!
