Default Here's the deal

One of our drivers here at work got wind that I wanted to buy a muzzle loader. So I was at the cappaccino machine about 20 minutes ago and told me that he had a rifle that he wanted to show me that he was selling. It is a bolt action CVA Firebolt and it has a 3x9 Burris scope on it. He said he will sell the whole thing to me for 300. What do you all think about that deal?

Buds gun shop brandnew Firebolt, nickel barrel 170.00 and I'm no expert but Burris scopes are not on the same page as the Swarovski's! I'd offer him 175.00 tops, show him that the Firebolt can be had brand new for 170.00.

The more I think about it, if that thing has been fired I'd offer no more than 150.00

what others have said. You can pick up a CVA blackpowder gun (buckhorn) for 99.99. I did just that at Dunn's sporting goods. It shot great. Burrius is not in the same league with swarv. or Leica or leupold. Tell him 150-175 or no deal.

I think he is trying to get full retail out of his investment at your expense. While that's a good deal for him, it is not for you. Offer him $150 for the whole works. If he balks, tell him you really had your heart set on a new rifle, and was not interested in a bolt like the firebolt. Make him feel good. It sounds like he is a motivated seller since he approached you.

You should have pushed one of the cappaccino machines over on top of him. He was trying to kick you in the balls. A new one is much cheaper and who knows how well he has taken care of it. Doesw anyone else have that kind or scope?

Offer to pay him in 35$ in euros.

Kind of off topic, but, Burris not being in the same league as Leupold. I respectfully disagree with that opinion.

Well, I said Swarovski, and it depends on which model he has on it. Yeah Burris has some 500-800 dollar scopes but I doubt the gun is sporting one of those.
