Ok guys I have been shooting my CVA wolf with 2 50 grain pellets of 777 at walmart they had pyrodex ffg on sale for $10.00a pound so i bought me some to try. My question is what will be the equivlant of the loose powder compaired to the pellets. I need to know where i should start and do you have any tips for a first time powder user?

Pyrodex and Triple Se7en in pellet form are equal in strength they claim. So to equal the same in loose Pyrodex you would need 100 grains of the loose RS. Personally I would start at 85 grains and work the load up, all over again to get the best accuracy. I think you will like the loose Pyrodex. Not just the cost factor, but it seems to be a good standard in the powder market for accuracy.

same here

I would like to start getting some great groups and some serious testing time in. It would be great to test different bullets, powder, grains, etc.

Today there was a 35 mph wind but I shot my gun anyways. I was wise enough to stay at 50 yards. My first shot was with my 300 grain bullet and I hit bullseye. The next 12 were with 230 grains ones. These hit 6 inches high and not very tight. Í know one thing for sure and that's that the 300's shoot best in my gun. Of course, that is what I sighted in with. Tinkering's fun. I would sure like to get some more in.

Good luck with yours. Do keep us posted.

So did they get mad at you for shooting at them?
