I would also ask, the rifle was cleaned and free of all oil before shooting? Were you swabbing between shots? Were the XTP's the only projectile you tried? And do you have any powder other then APP?

I would also get some Pyrodex RS. Also move up to 25 yards to work your groups, there are too many things that can change at 100 yards. Be sure and do a good job of swabbing between shots. I am sure the rifle will come around and tune in real fast.

buy some pyrodex before you start buying different bullets. If you have a 4 wheeler, use the seat! lol they offer you a very nice rest. Or my favorite, a fence line. I know, i have some really damn weird rifle rests lol. But hey they work. Take my word for it and buy some pyrodex RS, load up with 80 grains and center it up @ 25 yards.

Yes, I cleaned all oil out of the barrel and any other junk that was in it from packaging. No, I didn't swab the barrel between shots, as I rarely do. The bullets were loading easily. I have no other muzzleloading supplies than the XTP's and AP powder. I have to get some supplies soon. I will make sure and get some Pyrodex when I do. That's what I normally buy, but I had someone pick up the powder and they bought the APP. I would rather get the Pyrodex anyways, as it's cheaper. I would like to stick to the XTP's as they are my favorite bullets.

I'm sure that once I get a bunch of bullets and abunch of time I will get it figured out and zeroed in. I was short on both today.

Boy, I was impressed though, that gun is much easier loading and simpler to clean than my other. It does kick horribly though. That gun weighs 8 1/2 pounds and my other weighs 5 and they both kick the same.I didn't expect that. Now I've got a big bruise and a sore shoulder. Oh well. Thanks once again and Merry Christmas.
