Good luck on the old doe. They are smart old girls aren't they.
We try to just do the popple tops most times. They eat the limbs down to a mans wrist size and strip the bark off the rest. Once corn starts being fed you can walk right in a yard with out spooking hardly any enough to go out side the packed down area. Hay gets donated by the ton some times. By scattering it out and mixing it they do fine most times.
Were told not to feed at all by theDNR except in extreame cases after nearly half the deer in a yard have died.
What is the use of that I ask?
We don't have much cedar, mostly hemlocks with a lot of popple in the higher areas.
