Default CVA Kodiak Pro Magnum 209 Thumbhole Muzzleloader?

I am purchasing one of these in .50 cal and was wondering what u guys recomend for bullets and a primer. Also, is there one particular brand powder that would work better for a cva then others?

Default RE: CVA Kodiak Pro Magnum 209 Thumbhole Muzzleloader?

All I have tried in my CVA Wolf is the loose,2f 777 and loose pyrodex. I like the 777 with the exception that my rifle builds a thick crud ring making it hard to get a follow-up shot w/o a quick swab. I'm about to experiment a bit more with different bullets, but the .45 240XTPs shoot well in mine.
