RE: Nosler Partition Success
Congrats on a nice buck! That terrain with a mix of hardwood& pinein the pic background has now become my favorite place to hunt. For years, I always stomped into the thickets or swamps.... but not anymore! It's become too difficultfor meto dragdeer out of swamps& thickets.
We really dont need expensive Barnes, Swiftsor Noslers for deer harvests. Gold Dots, XTPs, Scorpions and Mag Sabots work fine. I've abandoned coppers all-together for a lead bullet like the Buffalo SSB's. I prefer to buy the largest grainavailable (300-400+)- just for a confidence-boost.

Nice looking bucks, I would rather eat yours though. I have been useing those Noslers in my 54 sinceI bought it. I have a few left but I am going to use some gold dots and wet news paper to compare thembefore I go spend the big bucks for the Noslers again. Used to use the Nosler BT's in my 7mm 08 till they raised the price to $20.00 for 50 when I had been getting 100 for that price. I now use Hornady A max's in the 08 and they work just as well at half the price.

That was an awsome shot. Great pics and story. I ordered and recieved the mmp hph-24 sabotsyou suggested for my Remington.Still looking for the 300 grain Gold Dots. It shouldn't be a problem, just waiting for this major ice storm that hit our area to clear up before I can get out to look. Congrats on your hunt!!!

Still looking for the 300 grain Gold Dots.
While there, buy a bag of each Harvester sabot offered. May turn out to shoot better than the MMPs.

I have some sabot/bullets where MMPs shoot better -- some where the Harvesters shoot better. If you're going to buy the bullets, this allows you free shipping by adding the plastic sabots to the order.

I just may have to order the The GoldDots. I have one place left in town to check before I turn to mail order. You would think that in a town the size of St. Louis that there would be a box of Speer Gold Dots somewhere.
