RE: Rain proofing your Black Powder gun.
first day of muzzleloading i got caught in a slight rain storm and was using a flintlock, a friend of mine a few months before hunting season started, bought me rivers west hunting jacket, pants, gaitors and the watch cap. I put my hood up and used the watch cap and covered my lock as best i could. Gun went right off 2 days later. That hat will cost you about $40 but is the warmest hat ive ever had. Jacket/ pants didnt even get wet inside and were nice n' warm in those cold mornings. Worth every penny my friend spent!
