Well, this is the exact scenerio that I tried to lay out for Trip in this thread. It is yet to be seen if T/C's great customer service will continue as in the past, but it very well may not.

Too bad ole Trip is gone, I would love to hear his take on all this.

ORIGINAL: Triple Se7en

The best part of T/C's warranty is replacing parts that are not broke - but only wore-out. Go ahead & shoot those Omegas one hundred thousand times & wear-out that barrel. T/C will replace it free.
Every so often I wonder if they would replace my Hawken barrel and then I say, "wouldn't want it if they would" I polished the mill marks from the one thats there and browned her. I just could never part with her. I've never used T/C's warranty and this rifle has been fabulous. She's had at leastthreethousandround balls, only God knows how many maxiballs, and a few others as well through her. She's still a shooter but with much more character than she'd ever have with a new barrel.

Who here has had a wore out barrel replaced? Or a pitted barrel replaced? Just curious.

The last 3 T/C smokepoles I've owned and have had to send back(2 Omegas+1 firestorm) were repaired ..no questions asked by T/Cs warranty dept. It sure would be nice to bya T/C without having to send it back though! IMO the quality seems to be going a little south!
