Powerbelt Platnum vs. Cooper Sabots
So, I see that Powerbelt has a new Platnum series out now.
What's the advantage to Platnum vs. Cooper. I liked everything about the cooper ones that I used last year(295Gr.) I see that the platnum is even more expensive than the cooper.
What are your thoughts?

They supposedly will hold up better with magnum powder charges - hold up better when faced with bone shots. I heard the skirt has been improved also to address the heavier powder charges..... not sure about that thou. If you are a moderate powder charge user, the coppers are all you need hunting whitetails - with a heart/lung aim.

I see. I guess they needed something new to charge more for....as if the cooper ones aren't expensive enough.
I don't shoot magnum charges in my .50 magnum anyhow. I just use 2 pellets and a 295 gr. cooper powerbelt.
Last year was my first year with a muzzle loader and now I am addicted. I took 2 shots at deer and dropped them both deader than a hammer so I guess that load/charge will work.

FYI, at least they are less than the suggested retail price for the time being. Basspro and Cabelas is selling them for $16.99. Not cheap, but better.

Seems like a lot of people these days on here and other forums cant get their Omegas to shoot a good pattern. Whats the deal with them? They have a 1:28 twist dont they? Thats perfect for the powerbelts.

i dont know but in my hawkins flintlock,1-48 twist, they shoot real nice and i can load them down,not up on the hollow points. at 25 yards, i can put then in same hole if i can hold gun still enough.
