It happens more often when oils & solvents still exist in there.
That was my thought. SaskaBushMan: did you clean the barrel of that gun real well before you tried loading that first bullet? If not, that COULD have been your whole problem. Follow Trip7's advice and
Just prior to leaving for the range or woods, run both sides of a damp rubbing alcohol patch to remove any oils.

Thanks for all the help and just to let everyone know it was the sabot. I tried a different bullet/sabot and it went down smooth and easy.

I would scrub the barrel, do the cotten test to see if there were burrs causing the problem, if so a light lapping is indicated; fire lapping is also an option. Lee
