cayugad,I believe that velocity has a lot to do with it. My favorite hunting Hawken I built from scrath except the barrel which is 35.5 inchs long and with a 1-80 twist [the stock is special to I found a piece of Maple to make it out of that has both bridseye and tiger stripe through out] and with the load I use the chrony says 2150 and it really does an awsome job on deer and the 600 pound bear I got in canada is one of the few that stop the ball it was in a pucker up spot on the far shoulder just under the skin.
I use more RS in it than most co. recomend but I proof tested it my self.
