Default Beginners Rifle?

What do you guys suggest as a good beginners ML? I do want to go in-line, and do NOT want a bolt action. I am left handed. I'm very likely to shoot lead balls and even hunt with them. Looking to stay around that $250 mark (without all the other blackpowder goodies).

Only Gun that stands out is the H&R/NEF handi-whatevers
I know CVA makes a few entry guns as well.

Any suggestions which guns are a 'good' design and accurate?

Since you're left handed the break open type might be the best idea. I think the NEF Sidekick would be an excellent choice. Whether it will shoot roundball well is questionable. It might very well shoot roundball accurate with a reduced powder charge, but for hunting a simple 240 grain XTP might be the best medicine (if it is legal in your State).
