.429 sabots
I was wondering if you can push these sabots as hard as say a HPH24 black MMP sabot?
Reason I ask is I'm wanting to shoot the Swift A-frame and the options are either .44 or .45 cal. My gun is a Disc Elite.
I can buy the .429 in packs of 10 with sabots. Other option would be to buy a box of 50 count in the .45 and buy sabots.
Thanks.

Certainly if they are the new "polymere" plastic... if they are the old style of plastic you might need to use a sub-base to prevent blow-outs...
MMP does produce a HPH Green .429/.430 sabot and I am sure that Harvester's new green sabot is rated for 150 grains.
I think if you do the math you will find it is less expensive to purchase a box of bullets and a package of sabots.... but then if you are just experimenting it may be to your advantage to but the short package. I have opened boxes of all kinds of bullets sitting around from "experiments."
And I guess I should I have all kinds of packs of un-used sabots stuffed here and there also... Terry keeps hoping my interest in this thing called ML'ing will disappear, it would certainly help the household buget...

The A-frames would be coming from Midway and are on order so I would think the sabots would be current. The Noslers would be coming from them too. Was thinking about buying to packs of each. To bad the A-frames only come in .44 with sabots. I like the .45 better in general.
Do youhave any A-frames laying around? Nosler HG's? I'll buy them from you. Ihate tohave to spend 35 a box on the A-frame and Nosler's if they do not shoot well.

RE: .429 sabots
I have never gotten the .429's to shoot as well as the .451's with any sabot. Some were acceptable, but none better than about 2.5" at 100 yards. Most 3 to 5 inches. Of course, I'm really only looking at loads in the 2,000 fps bracket. Maybe they shoot just as well with non magnum loads.

Hey Roskoe,
The more I think about it, the more i'm thinking about staying with the .451 - .452 bullets. I will probably get one pack of the .44 A-frames just to see.I called Swift earlier and they said the make their own sabots.
I asked about different formulation runs but they did hot have an answer.
