Which gun

RE: Which gun
if you have a desire to change barrels to other calibers etc, then the Encore would be the choice. If all you want is a muzzleloader the the Omega is the way I would go. Omega has an excellent reputation as a good shooter and a very popular choice. There is nothing wrong with the Encore mind you, I just see no reason to spend the extra money for an Encore when all you want is a quality muzzleloader.

RE: Which gun
Of course it is personal preference, but I've been looking for over a year now and tomorrow I am plunking down the moneyfor an Encore. It simply fit's me better and I like the way it comes up.I like the Omega also, but the triggerguard and fit weren't as good for me.
All in all, both arewell madeguns with excellent reputations. I don't think that you can wrong with either

I do not like the factory hinge pin in the Encore. The used Encores you see in stores have a disturbing percentage of misfit, worn hinge pins. As a result, I chose the Omega when I shopped new.
If anyone here has an Encore that shakes, rattles or suddenly lost accuracy, then it may be time for an oversized, aftermarket replacement hinge pin.

RE: Which gun
I have shot quite a few rounds through my Encore switching barrels quite a bit as well and have no problems with the hinge pin. All three barrels I have lock up fine.
I did have a problem with the butt stock getting loose when I first bought the rifle but it has been fine since I tightened it up.
The pin that came with the rifle is hard to put in the first place I could not see me buying a tighter one.
