what projectile to shoot
I am looking at getting a new muzzleloader and I was wondering what is the best choice of projectiles to shoot out of a barrel with a 1 in48" twist? I never plan on shooting much farther than 75-100yrds at most.

A 1-48 twist is a kind of an inbetween twist so it will shoot RB, the big lead bullets and some do a fair job with sabot and short bullet.
You did not say what cal. and that can make a differance. Witha 54 its hard to beat RB with a 50 I would be inclined to a sabot with a 44 cal. 180 gr or a 45 cal. 200gr [they are what shoots in my 1-48] with a 45 I would go for a maxie or a maxie hunter; for hunting for target its hard to beat RB.

Sorry its a .50cal actually I was looking at the T/C renegade, someone mentioned to me that a buffalo bullet shoots well with a little lube. Honestly I wanted to stay away from sabots

Snowman-I shoot 385gr Greatplains conical over 80gr 777/2f in my 1:48 TC. Works for me out to 80 + yards. BM-3 gives the same results, and cleans up a lot better.
