Default bushnell scopes

I just got a cva optima, along with a bushnell banner dusk to dawn 3x9x40 scope for christmas. My question is that I saw on I think it was cabela's web site that there is a regular bushnell scope and one for muzzleloaders. Do I have the right one or does it matter?

Look at the specks of the scope and see what the eye relief is. You might be thinking of the scope they claim is for a shotgun and muzzleloader. As long as you have 3.5 inches of eye relief I really do not think you will have any problems. I personally like 4" of eye relief as I tend to over concentrate on the range sometimes and get reminded by the scope to pay attention. I think my Bushnell Banner Dusk to Dawn has 3.5 inches of eye relief and it is working fine.

I think you will really like the light gathering ability of the scope and the fast focus of the scope.

thanks, I'll check it out. So you don't see any reason to be concerned about the durablity of this scope for use on a bp gun?

I've been using a Bushnell Banner Dusk to Dawn 1.5-4.5x32mm on my Thompson Center Black Diamond for almost two years now and the scope has worked flawless. The clarity and focus of the scope is excellent. I have set it once and never has it gone off center. It might have been an inexpensive scope when I bought it, but I am very happy with it, other then I wish now I had got the 3-9x40 instead of the 1.5-4.5 power. I find most of the time I have it on the 4.5 setting. On the range I wish it was more for longer distance shooting and checking targets. I think you will be real happy with it.

I saw a dusk till dawn 3x9x40 with 6" of eye relief on Bass Pro. Its number is 38-883-242-00. On Busnells site it says for shotguns or lever saddle guns. I might get one of theses myself. Maybe you can exchage or get a refund and get the one with more eye relief.

Some shotgun/ML scopes (Leupold)are parralax corrected for 75 yards instead of 150. I use regular scopes on all but one of my guns and can't really tell the difference. HTH

I had one of them once and actually it was too much eye relief. I ended up sending it back and got a Sightron I instead.
