Hey all,
I am just getting back into black powder for the first time since 9-11. Everywhere I look on the internet, you have to order a minimum of 25lbs of black powder in order to get it delivered. Dont remember it being like that before 9-11
Anyone know of anyplace that will deliver a lesser quantity, or will I have to drive to buy less?
Can you even buy less if you go to a shop in person?
I live in NY, where black powder (the real stuff) is apparently illegal.
Any facts or recommendations would be great!

remember, when yo order powder off the internet you will have to pay $20 for hazmat shipping.

The hazmat fee applies to the shipment regardless of size, so most people think it is wise to order a case at a time.

The problem withshipping small amounts of BP, is that the HAZMAT fee (which is per box) will often be as much as the cost of the powder. The reason many shooters go for larger quantities, is to spread this fee over a greater number of pounds. Perhaps you could split a larger order with friends.
You don't say where in NY you live, but if you are close to Pa., there are a number of stores that sell it over the counter.
