On XTP's information about S.H.O.T.S. I went and check them out. Those were the ones I had shot a while back. I had some excellent accuracy with them. I bought them on a close out from some on line store and like I said, they shot real well. I never hunted with them.

Triple 7 - are you warning me that the .429 Partition HG's are not going to be very accurate?Thx. Roskoe
The link I posted was for the .451/.452 Partitions. I never seen them in .429/.430

what do you think work better Triple Se7en... the .429 or the .451? Is the difference in diameter of the bullets going to possibly make one better then the other?

I was kinda leaning towards the .429 bullet - they are a little longer than the .451 bullets in the same weight. But Iread somewhere awhile back that the larger bullets with the thinner sabots often give the best accuracy. This sure didn't turn out to be the case with the 200 gr. Shockwaves, though. Only .429 bullet I have ever used so far is the 270 gr. Speer Gold Dot. Accuracy was OK, but not remarkable.

Who makes a .429 Nosler Partition? Really... I've never seen any!

Because I always use the hottest substitute powder (777). I've abandoned using any green .429 sabot due to occasional flyers using magnum powder charges (85-120 gr.)

Thanks Dave! Not that I'm interested in purchasing them, just for reference. My intentions for Roskoe & otherswas the 45-cal version.

I'm going to try the .429 Partition HG's with the new crush rib sabots. One of my suppliers (dealer) has these on special - ordered some today. If they don't shoot, I also have a .44 Mag revolver . Will post results. Roskoe

I shoot the 260 grain .451 Nosler Partition HG's out of my Omega over 80 grains of T7. To date I've downed 3 deer with them 2 does and a nice buck. Longest shot was about 125 yards and I got complete pass through on the chest cavity. All shots have been complete pass throughs. I like to shoot them just behind the shoulder, save the shoulder meat. I was lucky and found 2 boxes of bullets, a box of 260 grainers and a box of 300 grainers, in the discount bin at a local sporting goods store for a little over half price. What I've read about Nosler Partitions is that they have a wide window of expansion velocity. What that means is no matter if they are going fairly fast or fairly slow they'll mushroom on impactroughly the same amount. With other bullets, too fast and they come apart on impact, too slow and they don't expand.

I'm sold on Nosler Partitions, I think they're one of the top bullets on the market. Remember the only thing that connects you to the quarry is the bullet.

I did a little range testing this morning with the .429 Nosler Partition HG's. In the green Harvester crush rib sabot, and ahead of 130 grain of Pyrodex pellets, I fired a three shot group at 100 yards. There was not a single hole in the 24" X 24" cardboard target, and the gun was sighted in for that load with a 250 gr. Shockwave. Moved up to 50 yards, and still no bullet hole.

On the way down to the target, I found one of the badly mangled sabots.

PS:Group shown in photo was 300 gr. Sabertooth - fired after I gave up on the Partition HG with the green sabot.
