I have not had any problems using 209 primers in my inlines, but have for years used small rifle primers in my sidelocks using primer nipples such as the Fusil V or equivlent nipples (none of which seem to be made any more). In addition, I now am using Mag Spark nipples on muy caplock rifles which use a 209 primer on a sidelock. I disagree with the idea that 209's are too dirty-maybe on some rifles, they may be. But not on either of my Traditions inlines, or on my two Bill Large-barreled sidelocks. The 209's give great accuracy on these two Hawkens. These groups were shot with Maxiballs at 100 yards using 209 primers:

I think its a wonderful idea, not really needed. A person should be able to find a combo that his gun likes to get him 2MOA performance with the 209's on the market.

I would lose em.

Well Ive got some on the way , will let you all know how they work , and if they cut the crud ring , think Im switching to black mag allso .

Im hopeing they help my friend with his knight t-bolt allso . About every other shot the primer blows into 2 pieces and sticks in the action , making a fast reload imposable . You actualy have to pick it out with a flemsy knife from under the plug . I guess thats why that model wasnt around long . The new remington primers might help him allso .

They're awesome - I'm glad I switched! Really improved my groupings.

I was going to order some from Cabela's with my Cabela's Bucks but decided that 10 would only be enough to get me started at the range - and I wouldn't want to stop and hammer in some new primers. If Cabela's sold the extras like Cecil does, I might have ordered them.

Instead, I shot my Bucks on wads.

I got them in and , tryed some in my savage , they pull out way easyer than the winchseter 209s do , makeing for a fast reload. Going to the range tomarow and will let you all know what happens . They are easy to prime and remove spent primers , and I guess in the long run will be cheaper on primer cost .

Excelent product , they worked great . If anyone is have problems with primers comeing apart this will slove it , and allso this is THE primer for savage guns ,it comes right out of the bolt after the shot , 209s are a pain to get out of the bolt on these guns . Anyone with an old t-bolt should give these a try allso as blown primers jamed in the action was a problem with this model
