Default Hornady Lock N Load Sabots

Has anyone tried the new Hornady L-N-L sabots - with the stem that holds the pellets to the sabot? Are they as hard to seat, in T/Crifles,as the regular sabots that Hornady uses in their SST bullets? Also, I thought one of the big advantages of pellets was the ability of the ignition source to burn right up the middle of the pellets. This surely could not happen with that plastic stem plugging the hole . . . .

Roskoe they are magnum sabots but not quite as heavy as the heaviest "black" sabots like MMPs and the like. The stem doesn't bother ignition because it is not perfectly round and solid nor does it completely fill the hole in the pellets. The stem is actually X shaped and combined with the heat of a 209, there is plenty of fire to touch everything off.

They seem to work pretty well and we have sold the crap out of them since they came out,

I hunted with those last year and they shot great but to tell the truth, the pellets stay on the stem very well but the bullet kept falling out of the sabot.

I have to input that the whole idea seems to me to be a solution to a problem that does not exist. I can load loose powder and a Powerbelt as fast as the stem thing and it costs a lot less. If someone likes them all the better for Hornady but the idea just hits me as unnecessary. Sorry, but I had to say that.
