RE: Spring Bear hunts.
I am no authority on Idaho Bear hunting, but here this timeframe is suspect seeing a lot of boars are rubbed, unless the far north or late spring. Before booking a hunt I would do some research and not only by contacting the outfitter who has the special. Rubbed coats offer no good fix and aren't easy to hide if you plan on making a rug! I have seen many a bear shot in the spring season where the hunter never viewed it or evaluated it prior to shooting and was disappointed with the harvest, so if this is part of your goal(rug/trophy) make sure to give it some consideration!
Just a suggestion.

He might be discounting them as it is late and he has openings.. I have shot bears in Wy. the first week in June and havent had a rub. I am sure it depends on the weather to a degree!
