Colorado Elk - Units 231 & 131
I'm planning a bowhunt to one of these units this year on public land. If anyone has hunted these units, how was the bowhunting hunter pressure? Also, how is the muzzleloader hunter pressure during muzzleloader week? Thanks for your help!

A small group of ours goes out to unit 131 every year. Every year it seems like there is more and more elk. Heck, even the deer population is going back up. Where we hunt we are lucky if we see more than 4 other people bow hunting. That is a total of 8 or 9 people to hunt a big mountain, there is plenty of room for everybody. I can't help you with muzzle loader. Check out my webpage for pictures from our 2001 Colorado Hunting Trip.

No offense IL_Bow_Man but you guys might want to practice a little more before you go out next year. From the best I could tell you guys were only batting .500. Two wounded animals that got away and 2 clean misses out of 8 shots is a pretty poor average. It just seems like a poor image to portray to non-hunters.
