Default Elk Hunting info.

If everything goes well, I hope to get out West to hunt elk in 2005. What I need is a list of what I'll need for the camp, hunt, clothes, etc.

I once found a web site that you could print out and it listed everything a person might need for camp/hunt and for the life of me I can not find this site. Can anyone tell me a web site to go to for this info.

Thanks,
dog1

dog1, what part of the west are you going next year? I moved from CO last year to GA. I hunted ELK right before I moved. The number one thing you should do, if going to CO is getting in to shape. Depending what time of the year I would have heavy/light clothing. Great walking boots and surival gear. I hunted in Nov. of last year for 5 days and on one day it was 70 degrees the next 25 and snowing. Hope this helps.

Try www.SuccessfulHunts.com, scroll down about 3/4 way down the page. You can sign up for a free list and some narrative to go with it. It takes a few weeks to get the whole list. It comes in three installments. If you don't want to wait for the marketing stuff and hunting tips that go with the list, let me know & I will email you the info. Just moved to Washington from Montana a few months ago and I already miss it.
Let me know. Good Hunting & Good Luck

M1fuller and Success,

Thanks for the info. M1 I to live in Ga. Plan on going to Co probably the 2nd week of elk season in 2005. I've got a couple of friends going to White River Nat'l Forest this year to hunt elk. Hope to get some good info from them.

Last year I went to Co to hunt mule deer and it was so hot while I was out there I thought I was in Ga.

A few years ago hunting elk in south western Montana, it was 65 -70 degrees and a 40 mph wind. Went home with a sun tan in mid November. A couple years later in central MT, opening week it was 16 below with heavy snow. God, what a great and glorious country. Like I said, If you want to give me an email address, I will send the list with narrative. Wish you the best.
