Mountain Caribou
Has anyone hunted for Mountain Caribou? My hunt this year includes this species as well as Moose and can't seem to find much info on the Mountain caribou.
The hunt will take place during the Rut but have seen no scents or calls for the Mountain or any videos which show any hunting for the species.
A couple of old video's I have found just show spot and stalk.
Any help would be great. [&:]

I do some guiding up here in B.C. for mountain caribou and moose. Where is your hunt? Caribou hunting is not really difficult depending on your location. I agree, there is not a lot of information on Mountain Caribou, but videos can be found. If you like, e-mail me and I'll try to answer any questions.

I will be in the Omineca Mtns on a fully guided trip. Although I will have a guide I hate to go into the hunt blind so to speak.
Are scents and calling helpfull during the rut or is it just a spot an stock affair.
Any GOOD video's you can suggest would be help for the species.
I have seen the older videos' with combo hunts with them but there is little if any technic involved other than just going out and shooting one.

Here is a picture of my mountain caribou, taken with BC Safaris in northern British Columbia in September, 2003. Email me, and I will send you the story in a word document.
