snoball, that is indeed a whale bone. It's a baleen. That is also a wolverine in the hanging by the window, bought from a local trapper while on the trip.

James...once again, your Dad has experienced an awesome hunt. During one of my elk hunts to Montana, I flew back into town with the owner of the outfitter for some supplies back at his house (before we packed in) and he had a full mount Polar. What an awesomely huge critter!!

Congrats again...

PS, I havn't been on the boards too much, but I see you got Freakzilla?? Congrats to you!!!

Thanks for the compliments. My dad appreciates all of them.

Whitetails, what were you hunting in Montana? Unfortunately I only got pics of and one close encoutner with Freakzilla. A neighbor got him with bow on Nov. 3rd.

It's a tricky process getting polar bears back into the US. There are quite a few papers to go over, it does cost some money. The government/border patrol will give you a time frame which you have to have the bear back by. If not, then you have to re-do the paperwork. You have to arrange appointments with border patrol for when you cross so they can examine everything. There is quite a bit of work that goes into getting a bear back, but it can be done.

JVee...My Dad and I were on an elk/deer hunt up in the Bob Marshall. He got a nice bull, I didn't, on that trip at least, but I did get a decent 5x5 mulie.
