but I gather anything that smells sweet and lasts, will draw one in!
they do live by there noses!

many yrs ago, I was told by a old timer, and NOT saying how he knew this
but he told me, HOW to get bears in.
as I was trying to get pictures of bears for a while(back in the early 80's)
long before trail cams and such
he told me to get a can of Sterno, and a can of cat food,
and poke holes in the can of cat food, light Sterno, and let it cook that cat food!, and wait?(also be in bear territory LOL)
well I tried that several times in the OFF season, NOT while hunting!, or only camera picture hunting here!

and I'd say about 4 or the 6 times I tried it, I got bears to show up!
never got any good pic's however, and I hated the darn smell so, Gave up on that stuff LOL

but it did work, and was pretty cheap, or was back then.

Had much better luck getting pic's over crops and from folks that had issue's with bear damage to bird feeders, getting pic's back then!
