Pre-season scouting, how important is it?
I am in the process of putting together a segment for RMOA television show and need your suggestions for " how important is scouting and why?" tell me what you do to prepare a time in the fileld, what do you look for? any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks for your help!

In a a word, VERY! A map is of some help with topography, but it will not tell you where the bedding areas are, or the prime feeding areas. Even more important, being on the ground is the only way I know of to pattern game and their movements. A scouting trip is the best way to locate ambush sites. I don' t know how people hunt an area they have never seen before. It' s too much like playing craps. Good luck.[&:]
