Another Eastern Washington Blacktail
Here is a picture of my buddy's 5 X 5 Blacktail. He got his on Saturday and I got mine on Sunday. This is the biggest Blacktail either of us has seen. Although not as big as Mulieor White tail generally, this one is.

good Lord stop spreading this crap. Why in the hell would you think a blacktail is running around an area like that?
Especially one that weighs over 200 lbs on the hoof?

This is the 2nd post you have indicated is not true. Perhaps a lesson in identifying deer by horn formation would work for you? The Goldendale area is a cross area but this particular deer (and the one I got) are both Blacktail. If you can get a Mule deer horn formation out of this you are a better hunter than the game biologist I showed this too is!

Very nice deer. I, too, immediately thought mule deer when I saw the picture. Not only is the body size exceptional, but the color patterns and ratio of ear size to body size says mule deer to me. And the antler configuration is very typical of mule deer, so I'm not sure why that biologist said otherwise.
Regardless, it's a dandy. Have you scored him yet?
