RE: Got my New Brunswick Moose - A dandy
Congratulations!
I haven't decided if I will ever try a Moose hunt or not. Part of the reason is that most of the places to hunt Moose are so far off I would probably have to fly instead of drive and it sounds like it is a major ordeal to get the meat home.
Were you able to get the meat home and if so, how much did that cost?
Thanks, Nathan

RE: Got my New Brunswick Moose - A dandy
We drove 10.5 hours from Massachusetts to the center of New Brunswick. I shot the moose on Friday AM and had it a the local butcher shop early afternoon. They caped it out immediately and hung the moose in the cooler. I stopped by early the next am and they quickly quartered him up and we put him in the trailer and drove home w/ him on ice. Everything went fine. He is at my local butcher now. The NB butcher charged mde $100 to hang, cape, & quarter the animal.
All in all, it was a perfect situation. The butcher had 92 moose hanging when we left Sat AM
