2008 Booner Bear......well at least temporarily
Scored a big bear opening day of the Wisconsin Bear hunt and finally got time to post pictures. Took almost a week to butcher the beast and get it in the freezer. The bear weighed in at 380 lbs and the skull green scored at 20 4/16th.
Two days before season my trail camera caught him coming in for some donuts:
Here's a picture four hours into the hunt. Due to hunting alone and the weight of the bear, I wasn't able to move the bear for a better picture. Here's the best shot without a lot of blood:
Final photo of my trusty baiting companion Luke who wanted nothing to do with my bear. In fact, a few minutes after this picture, Luke disappeared and I found him an hour later back by my truck which was a quarter mile away.

Temporarily because B&C has two levels of making the book. Greater than 21 inches makes the "Permanent" book and between 20 and 21 inches makes the "Awards" book published every three years. At least that's my understanding.

That's a dang nice bear----whether he makes the book or not. Is that a Browning BAR ? 30/06? Bullet used?
What did he measure from nose to tail----6 1/2' ?
Conglads again a a Dandy bear. CB

Good observation and thanks CB.
I used a 220 grain Remington Core-Lokt SP and it dropped him in his tracks with a front on shot. Being setup at 40 yards, I went with the BAR since the scope could be dialed down to 2.5x.
The nose to tail length was 83" and it's width behind the front shoulders was 54". Not sure how that measures up since the previous bears my son and I shot were in the 150 lb range and we never measured the bears other than to make sure they were legal length here in Wisconsin.

It's not technically a B&C bear but It's still a monster of a bear!!! A 21" bear Is a tough one to get. Congrats on the big bear, well done!
