Thanks everyone for your replies, I will have to see where I am hitting, my field at one point will be at around 260-275 I think. I will take a shot from my house out to that and see what that looks like. I will be hunting in Gunnison, Colorado, which the GPS was saying around 9600 to 10,600 where I checked the elevations last fall.

Gunny is very tall and if you get there early, there are plenty of areas where you can sight in. Hope you have a deer tag, there are some monsters out there!!

I sight my elk hunting rifle dead on at 200yrds. Then I am in the kill zone as mentioned above at 100 and 300. I usually do not need to shoot anything over that.

I wouldset my zero distance to 250 yards.Zeroing at 250 yards will keep the bullet path within 3 inches of the line of sight to approximately 290 yards. Beyond 290 Kentucky windage will be alot easier than if it is sighted in at 100 or 200.

I was there last fall, and had a huge 5x5 16 yards from me, elk tag only. It takes 6 to 7 years to draw a mule tag there. I don't care ,I only want an elk. To far and expensive to get a deer home on plane. I get enough deer at home. Not as huge as the mule, but that is fine. thanks for the info. though.
