Congrats on drawing your tag.
Just for future reference a DIY antelope hunt in CO can be a pretty good deal. Most private land owners who have antelope hate them so even a walk on hunter will have little trouble getting permission. My son and I draw every year or get land owner vouchers. If you are looking for a trophy animal you may still be best off going with the outfitter.

That is a Remington Sendero .300 Win mag with a Burris 3x9 FFII. I shoot a 180 gr. Sierra BTSP. We take several rifles but because of the wind this was the choice of the day. It was a long shot (people who have never been out there get nutsy when I post the distance) thru the front ribs...thru and thru. no meat damage.
Its my sisters place so we have plenty of time to pick our bucks.

This one was shot the same day by my son, using the same rifle two hours after I got mine. His was a 240 yd. shot in the winter wheat field. His buck actually has better horns, taller, narrower and swept back more.
