If I were you I may look at New Mexico. You should"nt have a problem drawing, and the country is so diverse that no matter what the conditions you can always find public land to hunt. ,,,,,,,Just a thought.

Either state will require you to draw a tagif I am not mistaken. It can take a long while in either state to draw an Elk Tag. Colorado,Idaho,Montana and Wyoming would be better states.
