RE: You will not believe this cat!
Our local loggers see quite a few cats. Most are smaller, 150 lbs. or so, but some are really big, 200 plus. And the cat population is really growing. One of the log truck drivers told me he saw a momma cougar with 3 kittens last summer. Also saw a very large cat picture (several photos) down at our local sporting goods store. That cat weighed 250 lbs. Came from NE Oregon. Good advice, watch that backtrail...

I don't think the guybehind the catis real it looks like a cat shot out of North bend, WA. state with the guys face reimposed. There was an aticle in our paper about a guy who shot a cat an emailed it to his friend and ever since its been a nightmare for him due to all kinds of people reimposing their faces. I wish I could dig up the picture but I would swear it is the cat. So I would say don't trust the picture.

That is a big healthy male that has been eating a lot of deer meat. I killed a female a few years back that wasn't that big but they are all big dangerous cats that can kill a man in short order... always watch your back trail.

That'll make you take notice when you hunting in the dark woods!
I saw the track of a big cat at about 6500 feet 2/3 the way up a long ridge line on the North side, heavy timber with scattered small openings last Nov. 26-27 in NW WY, while hunting Elk. It was definitely a big cat that had left prints in the snow probably a day or two before. It was relatively round, no claw marks and 4.5-5" across. I definitely kept even closer watch when following a small group of Elk about 100 yds. ahead through those woods. It's things like that that remind you we're not really at the top of the food chain.

I fear cats more than bears...There have been alot of attacks here in Southern Cal and to further things here we can't shot them, self defense would be OK but you had better be able to prove it. A police officer is being charged for shooting one sitting on his block wall eyeing one of his kids. He wounded the cat, DFG tracked the cat and finished it off, and then they came back and gave this guy a ticket...who makes the call if his kids were in danger or not?
