Put In For My Wis. Bear Tag
WellI finally convinced myself to put in for my Wisconsin Bear tag. This being my first time entering into the lottery Im not expecting to get drawn. But with the amount of bears in Zone C now days, anything is bound to happen as did with my friend lastyear when he put in for the first time and was lucky enough to get drawn. That there should tell you prefrence points dont mean much. I have never bear hunted before and have a wide variety of firearms to choose from that I own. Heres what I have available:
50 Cal Muzzle loader. 240 gr. Hornady Sabots.
12g. Shotgun With Slug Barrell
.308 Remington
.35 Remington
270 Remington
30-06 Mauser
Taurus .44 Mag Revolver w/custom bear loads.
PSE Nova Bow 65lb Draw 100gr 4 blade muzzys
I plan on carrying the .44 as a side arm as I do during archery season for protection.
What baits do most use. I know bacon grease, cookies, donuts, candies, and all that work well but what works best??
I have an unlimited supply of barells to place the bait in so thats not a problem.
What kind of stands do most of you use or prefer. (i will not be hunting with dogs)
Do you have more than one bait site?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Good luck drawing!! Sounds like your odds are similar to ours here in MI!
Looks like all of your guns will work fine, use what you want or like best!! I would personally use the Muzzleloader.
As far as baiting can't help ya much there!
