NJ...this is a"if you build it they will come"we put in oats this past summer.. Myneighbor did and these critters are products of a food plot basically. My wife shot her's behind the house coming down a fence line in the evening..and mine at daylight leaving my pasture with a few cows.. As much as I love really "hunting hard' foran old whitetail buck with my bow.. this is completely different but very satisifying on a different level.. We cut all our own meat etc.. and rely on it year to year.. we dont buy store meat if we dont have too..My wife actually is really enjoying hunting this season and has had 1 shot at a little bull too..she missed.. she had our boys sitting with her that night..on the elk....Its definatley a way I can spend quality time with my wife and kids around the house..
I will say this..the big boys are way to smart to be on these fields in the daylight! like I said this was for the freezer...

Troy; Congratulations to you and your wife on your backyard's harvest. That is a great looking family, and a great way to enjoy the time together. I havepleasant memeories of my son and myself on deerstands , when he was young, unfortunately those good times don't always continue.I know your hard hunting will pay off with a moster bull and whitetail some fall. Enjoy those steaks, and the memories. Hungry Horse in Pa
