Not really anyhurry, but I am looking forward to it.
1st Rifle season in mid-October with the turning of the Colorado aspens.
I sure do enjoy the base camp set up and camp life, camp camaraderie, visiting old time neighbors and mentors,working with the horses and looking thru some fine elk country....
The weeks worth of scouting before the season is about as much fun as the hunt....
Picking the drainage, packing back in, setting up spike camp, and later the field dressing, packing the meat out, butchering and packaging everything rightin camp.
Lowering the boom onsome elk is in that mix also but that part is short lived compared to the rest of the trip.
