she was 50 yards away on top of a grassy hill and the den was down toward the drainage in a rock bluff. theres alot to the story, but it was a awesome hunt.

was she 50 yards away or was she inside the den?
Not bad for being two feet away and in front of the den, when the mother was alive and inside. We thought she was smoked but nope! she ran out a few hours later.

SHE WAS ON THE HILL SIDE A FEW HUNDRED YARDS AND WE THOUGHT SHE RAN AND DIED IN THE DEN, BUT WE DIDNT KNOW HE WAS A SHE UNTILL WE WERE LOOKING FOR BLOOD AND FOUND THE DEN.

Cute LIL buggers, yep their cute til there big enough to drag a quarteror deeroff the game pole. two years agoI had a big brown chew threw the rope holding the four quarters some twenty foot up. I hope it hit him in the head whenthey came down LOL. I had shot the elk at sunset some 5 miles from camp, and had to tree the quarters for the night " should have gone back for them".The dang bear eat a good 30% of those quarters, wasted them all.Those are real nice pics you took GREAT JOB!

Dude thats hilarious, i have friends that have had lions dragg there elk, but that sucks that you lost the meat.
