Taking Black Bear with Shotgun
I'm going to Canda in Sept. fora fall bear hunt. I'm wondering what you would recommend for black bear. I'm using my shotgun, and debating with using 3 inch Federal Barnes Expander (copper) or Federal Sabot (copper coated). Feel free to let me know which you'd take. Since I won't have $ for a rifle, I'm gonna use this. Remingtion 870 with Bushnell Holosight. I think the Copper plated sabot will get more penetration. But please tell me what you would recommend or what you have used. Shot's will be under 60 yds. Thanks matt

RE: Taking Black Bear with Shotgun
Black bears generally are not any harder to kill than a whitetail. If anything they go down quicker. I really dont know anything about slugs, but a well placed arrow will put them down within 50 yds everytime. Good luck and shoot straight.
