The anticipation is killing me
The feds just released a final rule to fully delist the grizzly bear here in the Rocky Mountains in 30-37 days. That means we finally get to hunt them. Sure, only a handful of tags will be given out each year, but I can't wait to see some of the monsters that drug out of the woods, and I sure wouldn't mind getting to take a crack at one of the beasts myself.
It'll take a little work to get them off the list, though, because some cry-babby liberal groups, namely EarthJustice, have already issued statements that they plan to pull their usual hijinx and file lawsuits. Aparrently 680 grizzlies, most of which are in WY, aren't enough for the liberal weiners.[:@]
Their main complaints:
Grizzly habitat isn't 100% protected. (they must want half the state to be wilderness area).
The whitebark pinetree population isn't healthy enough to provie the bears with enough nuts. (that one gave me a chuckle).
Too many Wyomingites have too much hostility towards the bears (LOL).
The delisting will rescind protections for bear habitat (once again they want to turn Wyoming into their personal wilderness).
And now the wait is on.
