Take a lesson from this formerly missing bowhunter. Bring your GPS/compass and don't depend upon your cell phone, they don't work in many ares out in the woods.
As a kid, I remember grandpa Victor in his 70s, who'd lived in the woods much of his life went out to pick blueberries some distance from home there one late summer afternoon. It started getting dark and instead of wandering around the woods at night getting most disoriented and further from home, he sat down next to a big tree, started a fire to stay warm and smoked his pipe. He walked out the next morning to find everyone looking for him. He thought it was all too much activity over in his mind at least, nothing. Those old Suomalainen poikas.
