Looked into some of thebullets you suggested, and am now looking pretty hard at the 180gr accubond. I've always been interested in the barns, but have had a bunch of people say they wont shoot tight enough groups. Their new mrx bullets look sharp.

Avoid less than 180 gr. IMHO, and absolutely do not buy ballistic tips or other highly frangible bullets.

They hold together much better when penetrating game as big, and dense, as elk.
I also agree with 180 to 200 gr. Probably the 200 gr for elk only, but you mentioned "mainly for elk."
