Dan, I didn't hear about that military guy, but I might end up testifying on behalf of a guy from WW. He goes into wildlife protection Monday for his citations since it took a while to determine if they were going to be given or not. Unfortunately this guy was being perfectly ethical, and thought he was legal, but got screwed by the quarter mile. He apparantly volunteers his time with the youth in archery leagues at north pole and was in the process of becoming an IBEP instructor, but won't be able to now with this citation.
Rob, I appreciate what you said about being careful on who you hunt with, and your feelings on being responsible. Alot of military come up here thinking how great the hunting is going to be, and get overwhelmed. They end up taking chances, getting caught, and making things worse for all hunters. There are a bunch of bowhunting opportunities up here, so you might consider picking up a new bow and getting practiced up.

Dont know all the details on it other then he lied on the 1 yr wait and got busted after killing a grizz/brownie. Came from the taxidermist who has my sheep, thats about the jist of the details I received, I'll let you know more when I hear it.
Ya that has to stink when ya do everything in your power to be right and still are wrong! Unfortunatly it happens and as the regs read, neglegance is no excuse. That said, laws are for the law abiding citizen, and its those who pay the fines, not the theifs on most accounts! It's a shame when one who makes a mistake and turns himself in, gets thrown behind bars for trying to do right!
Pig dog, our emails can be bound in the icons by our handles. Let us know when you get here and get settled into the barracks. I am formerly from Minnesota, eastern part, about half way between taylors falls and stillwater, just off the st croix river. Shoot me an email in the next couple of days and I'll drop you my phone number. If ya need help or any info both in town or on post let me know. I have plenty of time on my hands and could use a good excuse to get out of this house and away from doing the dishes <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>!
